Session Description

Is your company a US entity that is required to collect the IRS W-8BEN or IRS W-8BEN-E from your Non-US vendors/payees? Don’t risk IRS fines and penalties from accepting mismatched legal name and tax id combinations for Chapter 3 Non-FACTA payments. Get trained on what to look for and when you should send them back to your vendor for correction.  This session will include a high level overview of how to determine if a vendor is reportable or if withholding is required, but recommends assistance from a tax professional in these areas.

Live sessions may be affected by conference attendance.

After session, participants will be able to:
  • What to Look For: IRS W-8 Examples of Forms Most Received by Accounts Payable: W-8BEN and W-8BEN-E
  • Know when an 8233 Form is Required
  • Add or update the vendor record with the vendor’s legal name and disregarded entity (dba) into the Accounting System or ERP accurately to post invoices and for tax reporting purposes
  • When to Accept or Reject (send back) To Your Vendor For Correction
